Change in last date for linking Aadhaar and Ration Card

The government has once again extended the deadline for linking Aadhaar and Ration Card (Aadhaar-Ration Card Link). This time an extension of three months has been given by the government. Earlier, the deadline for linking Aadhaar and ration card was June 30. Which has been increased to 30 September. A notification has been issued by the Department of Food and Public Distribution.
Is it necessary to link Aadhaar and Ration card?
Let us tell you that since the announcement of 'One Nation-One Ration Card' by the government. Since then linking of ration card with Aadhaar has become mandatory. The government has received news that people are availing free ration from different places by having more than one ration card. In such a case, emphasis is being placed on linking the Rash card with the Aadhaar card for the purpose of banning it.
Apart from this, many dead people are getting the benefit of ration on ration card as well. To ban all items, the government has made it necessary to link them with Aadhaar. However, on behalf of the Modi government at the Centre, it provides cheap food grains and kerosene oil to BPL families through ration cards. Beneficiaries with more than one ration card take more ration and the needy are deprived.
Ration will not stop after June
The government had earlier set a deadline of 30 June 2024 for linking Aadhaar and ration card. Media reports are saying that beneficiaries will not get the benefit of cheap ration and free ration from July 1 without linking Aadhaar and ration card till the specified date. But now the last date has been extended by three months i.e. till September 30 from the government, then the eligible beneficiaries will continue to get the benefit.
Action will be taken against taking money-
Officials have issued a notice that strict action will be taken if any Kotdar is found demanding money or any such complaint is received. There are 37841 Antyodaya card holders in Lucknow. At the same time, the number of household card holders is 534159
How to link Aadhaar and Ration card?
The online process for linking Aadhaar and Ration Card is given below.
- First of all go to your state's public distribution portal or the website of 'Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs' department https://web.umang.gov.in.
- Click on 'Link Aadhaar with Ration Card' option will appear on the website.
- Enter your ration card number, Aadhaar number, and other required details.
- After entering your Aadhaar number, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter that OTP.
- After submitting details and OTP, your Aadhaar and Ration Card will be linked.
The offline process for linking Aadhaar and Ration card is given below.
- Go to your nearest Public Distribution Office (when PDS Office) and get the 'Aadhaar-Ration Card Linking Form'.
- Fill the form with required details, including your ration card number, Aadhaar number, and Aadhaar number of family members.
- Attach a copy of your Aadhaar Card and Ration Card along with the form.
- Fill up and submit the form along with required documents. The office official will verify your documents.
